We Perform TONIGHT!
Tonight, the public gets it's very first taste of I Love My Dead Gay Son: The Musical! We're showing about 30min worth of excerpts -- workshop style-- at Refraction Arts' FuseBox Festival.
We had the tech rehearsal last night, and things are looking very, very tight (especially seeing as we're still 1 1/2 months away from the final showing -- score!). There's a scene in which Melissa Rentrop improvs for about 30sec -- and in that time she has introdcued us to more words for "pussy" then we ever thought could possibly exist in decent society. Funny? We think so.
Yellow Tape is performing second in a bill that includes Jessica Hendrick's Three Feminine Instincts to Master, and Two You Should Ditch. Jessica is a former Rude Mech -- now living it large in NYC -- and her one-woman show is directed by current Rude Mech, Sarah Richardson. The excerpts we heard while waiting to tech our show were very funny. Check it out.
The whole thing kicks off at 8pm tonight at the Blue Theater. Click here for directions. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or on the Refraction Arts website. $15/$12 (students, etc)
If you do manage to check it out -- send us your feedback, post comments about the show, let us know what you think . With this much time left to rehearse, tweak, cut and paste, we want all the opinions we can get!
