A Yellow Birthday, Complete with Cake and Beer!

This July 25th, Yellow Tape Construction Company is celebrating its third birthday at Rio Rita on 6th St in East Austin. The unruly, unmannered yet highly lovable toddler of Austin's performance community is hosting a party with beer and burlesque -- just like real three-year-olds! Celebrations include performances by Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, Girls Girls Girls! improv troupe, and an evening filled with classic tracks that'll get your booty shakin'.

"We've got a huge year ahead of us and we asked ourselves how we wanted to ring it in," says Artistic and Managing Director, Amanda Butterfield. "We're going to paint the town yellow. We've got some awesome performances lined up. I can't reveal much, but I will say that Michael Jackson never looked so good."

Tonight We're Gonna Party Like It's 1999!

We're gearing up for our closing weekend of I Am Not Tartuffe! Some funny things that have happened along the way:

1. We recently found out that one performer didn't wear underwear the first weekend! The scandal!

2. Another performer is bruised up due to an unpleasant mishap with the tech booth while she was overcome with French mimeyness.

3. An audience-member had an untimely arousal due to sitting with a warm powerbook on his lap for an hour!
